Micro Blog

These are my short-form posts: small snippets that don't need a full blog article.
Why use social media when I can make posts on my own website?

It's been a cold start to 2026 here in Madison: this week we've had a warm stretch where we've broken out of the 20s and into the 30s, but just a few weeks ago it was -20° F, with a wind chill of -40°! You get used to it pretty quickly, though.

I've mostly been staying inside a lot. I'm midway through crocheting a shawl out of soft, hand-dyed merino yarn. 🐑

What I've been up to lately:

  • Crocheting a scarf out of granny squares.
  • Starting to migrate my notes from Notion to Obsidian, for better security & independence.
  • Playing a lot of Kingdom: New Lands.
  • Finished watching all of Hey Arnold! with my girlfriend. Can't believe I didn't watch it when I was a kid. But then again, I mostly remember thinking that the city life it depicted was very strange/foreign to me. It wasn't relatable enough to my life in rural Texas. Makes sense.

Today I spent some time during lunch to add microblogging capabilities to my website. You know, just for funsies.
